MHS Social Studies Teacher Email Phone: (262) 363-6200 x25230 Hi,
I am Kathleen Cascio. This is my thirteenth year teaching and my 9th year here at MHS. Previously I have taught in Colorado and in Waukesha. I earned my teaching certification from Carroll College (University) and my BA from UW-Parkside. Prior to teaching I coordinated the Labor and Delivery unit at West Allis Memorial Hospital and was a teaching assistant at the Franciscian Childrens Hospital in Boston, Mass. I have had the extreme privilege/opportunity to study and vacation abroad and will always encourage my students to "see the world".
Here at MHS I teach both regular and AP U.S. History. I am enthusiastic, truly love what I do and am happy to live and work in the Mukwonago community.
Regular U.S. History is designed to give a basic survey of the U.S. from Reconstruction through the events of 9/11. The goal of the course is to develop a clearer definition of our collective American identity and ultimately, our individual self. Students will also be able to demonstrate that they are "culturally literate" in history and they will be able to identify people, places and events that shaped U.S. History. Upon completion of this course students should have a better understanding of the United States and themselves as Americans.
Regular U.S. History (RUSH)
Our class is set up on Planbook. You can get there by going to

The U.S. History course currently does NOT have an online textbook.
Advance Placement U.S. History (APUSH)
This course is to prepare students to take the AP U.S. History exam in May with the intention of earning college credit while learning about the creation and development of United States of America.
Is set up through Google Drive. Mr. Scherbarth and I are linked together for this course.
