At the December 18, 2023, Board of Education meeting the Mukwonago Area School District School Board passed resolution to go to referendum not to exceed $102.3 million ($69.00 per $100,000 of property value) on April 2, 2024.
This Phase (Phase 2) of the facility master plan focuses on building a new 6th-8th grade middle school, which will enhance educational opportunities for 6th graders, and renovating the elementary schools to create space for 4-year-old kindergarten.
The referendum project solutions will focus on the district's most significant facility and educational needs:
In October 2023, MASD conducted a community survey to determine resident support for potential facility projects around the district. On November 27, School Perceptions presented the findings of this community survey to the school board. The slidedeck and video of that presentation can be using the links below:
In April and May 2023, four meetings were held at district schools to provide the community with information about current and future MASD facility needs and to give the community the opportunity to provide input for the future of our district. Information and videos from those community focus group meetings can be found below.
MASD has followed a strategic process to review our facilities and ensure that our students have high-quality facilities in fiscally responsible ways. In December 2017, the Board's Finance and Facilities Committee hosted a meeting at Park View Middle School to tour the facilities and learn more about the long-term needs of the district.
The MASD School Board's Finance and Facilities Committee hosted a series of meetings at each of the district's schools over the 2021-22 school year to learn about the current and anticipated needs at each school. Each of the meetings consisted of a tour of the school, committee discussion, and feedback. At the conclusion of the meetings, a list of priorities was established, along with short-term and long-term goals.
