Superintendent's Welcome

As superintendent, Mr. McNulty is the chief executive officer in charge of educational and business functions.  Mr. McNulty oversees the administration, development, and maintenance of a positive educational program designed to meet the needs of the every student. In addition, Mr. McNulty is responsible for carrying out policies of the School Board and making recommendations regarding policy changes. 

Mr. McNulty earned his superintendent licensure at Cardinal Stritch University, his Master of Science degree in educational administration from UW–Madison, and a bachelor’s degree from UW-LaCrosse in Broadfield Social Studies.  He has served the Mukwonago Area School District for the past 22 years as superintendent, principal at Rolling Hills and Eagleville, and social studies instructor, head wrestling coach, associate principal and principal at Mukwonago High School.

The director of student learning drives the development of the district's curriculum and instructional strategies for all grades and subject areas. Mr. Reichhoff works collaboratively with teacher-leaders on the Content Area Teams (CATs) to research materials, align instruction to academic standards, and ensure proper assessment of student learning.  He  coordinates the review of curricular programs to promote a culture of continuous improvement at all levels and the use of best instructional practices.  Mr. Reichhoff is also the primary human resource manager for the district’s certified staff.  His duties include the recruitment, evaluation, and development of staff.  

Mr. Reichhoff holds a Master of Science degree from UW-Madison in educational administration and policy analysis.  He is certified as a director of instruction, school business administrator, and principal.  His undergraduate degree from Lakeland College was in the field of elementary education and history.  He has previously worked as a building principal and classroom teacher.

As district assessment coordinator, Mr. Kossow facilitates and coordinates the services essential to the implementation and administration of state and local student assessments. He is responsible for reviewing assessment results and communicating assessment progress, needs, and changes to key stakeholders in the district. Mr. Kossow works together with other administrators and teachers to integrate formative assessment practices and ensure that multiple assessment measures are included in the district's multi-tiered system of supports and interventions.

Mr. Kossow holds a Master of Arts in Educational Policy and Leadership from Marquette University and completed additional graduate coursework at Concordia University.  He is certified as an elementary teacher, principal, and director of instruction.  In addition, he holds honors undergraduate degrees in elementary education and interdisciplinary social sciences from Marquette University.  Mr. Kossow has previously worked as an elementary teacher, gifted and talented coordinator, assistant principal, and principal.

Mrs. Hanisch is responsible for providing direction and support in the area of educational technology integration. She works with teachers, students, administrators, support staff, and district families to assist them in applying technology to a wide variety of learning-based and administrative goals. Mrs. Hanisch also works closely with the district IT team to put complex technical information into laymen's terms for end users, and her work with district websites, social media, and the district newsletter helps facilitate district communication efforts.

Mrs. Hanisch holds a master's degree in educational technology from Cardinal Stritch University and is certified in online instruction and SMARTboard training. Her undergraduate work at UW-Whitewater was in secondary education and she is certified to teach secondary english, drama, and speech.

The Director of Pupil Services oversees the development and administration of all specialized student services, including special education, social work, school psychology, gifted and talented, English language learners, nursing services, guidance counseling, and homeless services. Mr. Lemke ensures the proper identification of students in need of services, including assessment of students and creation of individualized education plans.
 
Mr. Lemke holds a bachelor’s degree in special education, a Master of Science degree in special education, a Master of Science degree in educational administration, and a certification in the area of Pupil Services. Mr. Lemke is certified in the area of curriculum and instruction as a school principal and as a director of special education.  Mr. Lemke has previous experience as a special education classroom teacher in grades K-12, coordinator of special education, and director of special education.

As the Mukwonago Area School District nurse, Ms. Heidelmeier is responsible for the health services of the district in order to support and enhance student learning. This is done by identifying and decreasing barriers to learning in order to develop accommodations to meet students' health needs while at school. Responsibilities also include delegation of medication administration, diabetic management, immunization surveillance, and student health monitoring.

Ms. Heidelmeier has a Bachelors degree in Nursing from Marquette University.

The director of business services is responsible for the district's business functions which include budgeting, financial reporting and analysis, cash management, payroll, employee benefits, purchasing and accounting.  Mr. Karthausser also oversees the following departments: food service, buildings and grounds, student transportation, and district technology.

Mr. Karthausser holds a master's degree in education through UW-Whitewater and has experience as an actuary, data analyst, and school business administrator.

As the supervisor of building and grounds, Mr. Groshek is responsible for overseeing the district’s facility operations and improvements, including the supervision of approximately forty personnel in the maintenance, grounds, and custodial departments. He believes that continuing education for his staff is key to their success, and together, they manage over 788,000 square footage of buildings on 124 acres.

Mr. Groshek’s role also includes capital improvement project management, operational cost management, energy management, safety coordination, and IEQ management. He is also the district's AHERA designated person.

Mr. Groshek attended UW-Milwaukee for his undergraduate degree and is an active member of WASBO. He has completed his facility management certification and has been a co-presenter for educational sessions.

As supervisor of network operations, Mrs. Kovnesky manages instructional technology (IT) department staff and oversees all district network systems and services. She works directly with technology partners who support and maintain all critical aspects of the network's infrastructure, backup and disaster recovery, voice, Internet, wireless, and security technologies. Her team's priorities include improving and maintaining existing systems critical to the teaching and learning process. Mrs. Kovnesky ensures I.T. staff are committed to bringing new technologies to the classroom to for all end users.

Mrs. Kovnesky holds A+, Novell CNA, Web Master, and IT Leadership certificates through the UWM School of Continuing Education. She also has seven years as a manager and twenty-plus years of experience in the field.

Ms. Harris is responsible for all aspects of the school lunch and breakfast programs within the school district. Her duties include menu planning, compliance with federal program standards, monitoring financial performance, purchasing, employee selection, training and supervision, and debit account oversight.

Ms. Harris holds a bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of Minnesota-St. Paul/Minneapolis and a master's in institution administration from the University of Southern Mississippi-Hattiesburg. She is also a registered dietitian/nutritionist.
