Our mission shines brightest through success!
The goal of the Mukwonago Education Foundation is to fund innovative education ideas and student learning opportunities that are not financed by the school district and would otherwise go unrealized.Over the last decade, the foundation has distributed more than $300,000 in grants for projects that promote student achievement in engineering, art, skilled trades, literacy, STEM, music, physical education, theater, technology and more.
To raise awareness of our mission and funds for proposals that further student growth, the foundation hosts a yearly dinner and auction.
Our Impact
Every grant MEF awards fills a gap that the school district budget cannot. From 3D printers and robotics kits to hydroponic growing systems, electrophoresis chambers, flight simulators, and drone technology, the equipment and experiences funded through MEF give Mukwonago students access to tools that many schools never see. Grant requests (from teachers and students) are reviewed twice annually, with fiscal responsibility and direct student impact driving every decision.
Our reach spans every level of the district, from elementary school classrooms receiving math manipulatives and sensory learning tools to high school students competing on robotics teams, building in trades programs, and conducting hands-on science experiments with professional-grade laboratory equipment. The breadth of what MEF funds reflects the breadth of what students need to discover what they are capable of, and pushes teachers to be creative in their classrooms year after year.
Proud Partner of the Waukesha County Community Foundation
In 2026, the Mukwonago Education Foundation entered into a formal scholarship partnership with the Waukesha County Community Foundation, an organization stewarding over $80 million in community endowment funds. And when we launched this partnership, we did not just cast a vision. We put our money where our mouth is.
The Mukwonago Education Foundation seeded the program with our own funds, establishing the first scholarship under this partnership in the name of MEF itself, awarded annually to a Mukwonago High School graduating senior who is pursuing a degree in education to become a teacher. It was important to us that we lead by example and demonstrate our commitment to the future of this community before asking anyone else to do the same.
That is just the beginning. Our vision for this program is to grow it into something that reflects the full depth of generosity in this community. Through this partnership, Mukwonago businesses, families, and individuals can establish their own named scholarships for graduating seniors, with criteria tailored entirely to what matters most to them. Every scholarship remains exclusive to Mukwonago students, and the Waukesha County Community Foundation handles all administration with the rigor and stability of one of Wisconsin's most respected philanthropic organizations.
