Families have a choice in which type of learning environment best suits their child. Our Innovative Personalized Learning Community features multi-age classrooms, and our Comprehensive Classroom pathway utilizes a single grade approach. Both pathways promote high quality curriculum and research based instructional practices to engage learners. Section is an energetic and innovative learning community with a staff dedicated to making it an exceptional place for students to learn. Kindergarten at Section is a social, emotional, and academic developmental year. This critical time in a student’s life sets the foundation for a child’s future. All kindergarten students will participate in classrooms that utilize characteristics of both learning pathways. Upon completion of that year, you as the parent will choose which pathway is the best fit for your child moving forward.
All Learning Pathways
Many similarities exist between the IPLC and Comprehensive Classroom pathways, and both are inclusive to all learners, including students who receive IEP, Speech, ALP (advanced learners), and RtI services. All students participate in the same district wide reading, writing, and math curriculums and assessments. Additionally, participation in specials including, music, art, gym, library / technology (PLTW), and social emotional learning (SEL) is with grade level peers. Collaborative grade level activities, field trips, recess, lunch, and concerts round out the common grade level experience. Regardless of pathway, access to technology is 1:1 in grades 2-6 and heavily supported in grades K-1.
