Work Co-op
Employers have expressed concern that the education system has not prepared young people with the type of work readiness and technical skills to meet their business needs. Mukwonago High School has a long history of offering a series of programs that address this issue head on by directly connecting education and work. Youth Apprenticeship and Co-op programs are two of these programs that offer high school juniors and seniors opportunities to prepare for a career while still in school. These are rigorous programs that combine academic and technical instruction with mentored on-the-job learning.
There are typically 80+ students working at over 75 different businesses in these programs of:
- Auto Technology
- Business Education
- Family and Consumer Sciences
- Health Occupations
- Marketing Education
- Manufacturing – Machining & Welding
