EVES Grade 4 & 5 Teacher Email Phone: (262) 363-6258 x23203 Hello, my name is Catherine Selzer-Benavides and I teach 4th and 5th grade at Eagleville Elementary. I received both my Bachelor and Master of Arts in History from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, and from there began working in several area museums. After working in the education department at the Waukesha County Museum, I was excited to work with young students and motivated to earn my teaching certification. I did so by attending Carroll College in the evenings while continuing to work full time for Waukesha County. After student teaching at Prairieview and working as a substitute teacher, I finally found my home at Eagleville and have been teaching here since 2010.
I, too, am a product of the Mukwonago School District --- I attended Big Bend Elementary, Parkview, and MHS. I am grateful to all of my teachers who inspired me and sparked my passion to be a life-long learner. My 4th grade teacher, Ms. Baylerian, I will always remember for instilling a love for reading. My 6th grade teacher, Mr. Dusold, I remember challenging me to think about things in new and different ways. They were my inspiration for becoming an elementary school teacher.
A little more about me-- I am married (Tate) and have two amazing step-children (Tiburon and Paige). We have a cute home in the Town of Genesee with a huge garden and enough room for all of our pets. When not in the classroom I love to read, garden, practice yoga, travel, and walk my dogs. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
School Hours: 8AM - 4PM, Monday through Friday. I am available to meet before or after school. Please contact me directly to make arrangements.
Please note that contact via e-mail is preferred, however while I'm with students I often do not have time to check e-mail throughout the day. If you need immediate attention it is best to call the school and ask for me directly.
