Why have you chosen to seek election to the Mukwonago Area School District Board of Education?
I am running against Cheri Winchowky as District-at-large in April 2024 because our students, parents, and teachers deserve someone with firsthand knowledge of the challenges that they face within our school district, and they deserve someone who will put them first; who is not afraid to take a stand, speak out, defend, and prioritize the rights, safety, and academic needs of all students.
I believe that is takes a village to raise a child. Parents, our school board, and our educators should be able to work together on issues to ensure our students success. Lastly, I believe that we as a district should ensure that we never have a repeat of what happened during COVID, and that CRT will never be taught in the walls of our schools.
What background and experience do you have that will help you represent the Mukwonago community?
I have been a member of the United States Air Force for going on nearly 18-years now, ten of which I worked full-time at the base located in Milwaukee, WI; duties included conducting inspections to ensure compliance with multiple Department of Defense (DOD) and military directives within the Maintenance Group. As of today, I work as a federal employee for the United States Department of Labor, overseeing safety compliance and conducting investigations into workplace injuries and fatalities, while operating as a Drill Status Guardsman on weekends.
Please give background information about yourself:
I have been married to my lovely wife Brenda Schwartz for 12 years, we have three children who currently attend the Mukwonago Area School District. My 14-year-old son attends Park View Middle School, while my 10 and 11-year-old daughters attend Prairie View Elementary School. We built our home nearly 4 years ago, and chose this district due to the fantastic school district and local small town feel.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Management with Minor in Human Resource Management in 2018, and hold two Community College of the Air Force associate degrees in Aircraft Aviation Maintenance.
