  • Rolling Hills Contributes Almost $900 to Food Pantry

On Saturday, May 31, we held our first Rolling On Community Bike Ride to benefit the Mukwonago Food Pantry. Almost 100 riders from about 40 families participated in the event. Riders chose one of two courses through the subdivisions near our school. One was an easy, two-mile course, and the other was a slightly more difficult and longer four-mile course. To register, each family made a donation, and at the end of the event we had raised almost $900 for the food pantry in lieu of our annual food drive. In addition, the Town of Mukwonago Police were on hand with an obstacle course, and officers assisted with bike safety checks and helmet fittings. See our Facebook Page for more information and photos.

Rolling Hills Student is Grand National Handwriting Winner

Rolling Hills student Alex Goebel was honored on May 15 by Zaner Bloser as the 6th Grade Grand National Handwriting Champion! The sixth grade teachers selected Alex's handwriting sample from all school level entries. Then, his handwriting was judged against other sixth grade entries from other public schools in Wisconsin. As the statewide winner, his penmanship was then judged against the state winners from public schools across the United States. After winning that national title, he competed against the sixth grade national winner from the private school category. As the winner, Alex received a trophy and a $1,000 cash prize! This is the second year a Rolling Hills student earned the Grand National prize in this competition. Last year, sixth grader Lucas Morse won the honor. In addition, Rolling Hills student Christian K. was also selected as a statewide handwriting winner in kindergarten after winning the school competition. Statewide winners recieved a special medallion. Other school level winners included Abigail G. (1st Grade), Cameron R. (2nd Grade), Gabrielle H. (3rd Grade), Andrew LaBelle (4th Grade), and Zane Robe (5th Grade). Zoey J. (2nd Grade) and Drew C. (5th Grade) received honorable mention awards. Congratulations to all of the students!
