ABC's of Autism

Parents/Guardians are invited to the April 30th workshop to learn more about recognizing and managing the signs of autism in youth.

Be a substitute teacher in MASD!

The Mukwonago Area School District is currently seeking qualified applicants to serve as substitute teachers at all of our schools.

3 & 4 Year-Old Screening

Screening for 3 and 4 year olds will take place on Wednesday,August 13, 2014and Thursday,August 14, 2014, at Clarendon School.Developmental areas to be screened include pre-readiness skills (short-term memory, the ability to attend and follow directions, knowledge of basic colors, etc.), speech and language, fine motor/gross motor skills, and vision/hearing. This screening is for Mukwonago Area School District residents only.There is no cost for the screening, but registration for screening is necessary.To register, call 363-6300, Ext. 24203, between 9:45 A.M. and 2:15 P.M. The screening process will take approximately forty-five minutes. The screening process is not a mandatory experience for children, but rather an opportunity for parents to have their child’s general development assessed. It is part of the MASD's Child Find process to identify students with developmental delays. The MASD Child Find notice may be found on the Pupil Services website atwww.masd.k12.wi.us.

Blue Ribbon School Nomination

Prairie View was recently nominated as one of the eight schools in Wisconsin to achieve Blue Ribbon School Status. The final decisions will be released in September.

Mukwonago Families, please consider hosting a Spanish student (ages 13-17) for one month this summer (June 22nd to July 20th , 2014), please contact Karen Sperstad, Local Coordinator for HIA (Holidays in America) at 262.470.5519 or sperska@masd.k12.wi.us. Señora Sperstad is a Spanish teacher at MHS and this is the third year that this valuable program offers families in Mukwonago the chance to explore another culture while reexamining their own! Open Enrollment: K-12

Open Enrollment for the Mukwonago Area School District will be held from February 3, 2014 through April 30, 2014. Students in 5 year old kindergarten to grade 12 may apply to participate in open enrollment. To apply go to http://dpi.wi.gov/sms/psctoc.html . You may fill out and submit the application on-line. For the 2014-2015 school year, parents must apply no earlier than midnight on Feb. 3 and no later than 4:00 p.m. on April 30, 2014. Prairie View's Wisconsin School Report Card

We are extremely pleased that Prairie View Elementary was rated “Significantly Exceeds Expectations” on the Wisconsin School Report Card.     Prairie View has received the Waukesha County Christmas Clearing Council'sYouth AngelAward for its work on Coins for Kids, which has helped fill the Council's toy shop shelves the past thirteen years.
