The prevention resource link on the PTAG web site will be provided as an educational resource for parents and students. It is for those who wish to gain insight and education into the current drug abuse problems with adolescents today.

It is a fact that parents educated in drug prevention have much less risk of their children abusing and becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol.

The AntiDrug

Parents and other adults who wish to prevent drug use in teens or who suspect a teen is using drugs or drinking can turn to for guidance. Included on the Web site are signs and symptoms to look for, interviews with parents with children who have abused drugs, relevant advice, and sample conversations that will help parents address the problem effectively. An interactive quiz —"How Well Do You Know Your Teen?" — is also available to help parents gauge their teen's risk level.

Whitehouse Drug Policy

Contains comprehensive information on drugs, drug abuse policies, programs and funding. The site includes links to state and local information.

Wisconsin Wins

Information about the the State of Wisconsin's program to reduce illegal sales of tobacco to young people. The site contains a section documenting how early tobacco use is the key predictor of many serious youth problems.

Street Drugs

This site offers a thorough database of drug information.  The Drug Index page lists numerous current illegal drugs of abuse: hallucinogens, stimulants, depressants, narcotics, cannabis, inhalants, alcohol, and tobacco.

Warning Signs

This site contains a list of warning signs that teens may exhibit if they are experimenting with drugs or alcohol, or are at risk of doing so.  Prevention tips, on-line resources, and a drug awareness quiz are included.
