  • America's Best High Schools

Mukwonago High School was recently included in Newsweek Magazine's 2013 list of the Best 2,000 Public High Schools in the Nation —those that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads. The list is based on six components: graduation rate (25 percent), college acceptance rate (25 percent), AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student (25 percent), average SAT/ACT scores (10 percent), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent), and percent of students enrolled in at least one AP/IB/AICE course (5 percent). Way to go, MHS!

MHS Named to AP Honor Roll

Mukwonago High School was recently named to the 4th Annual AP District Honor Roll as chosen by the College Board. MHS was 1 of 477 school districts in the United States and Canada who earned a place on this year’s list. The AP District Honor Roll recognizes efforts to open AP classroom doors to a significantly broader pool of students, while maintaining or improving the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher. Since improvement in AP results typically takes sustained effort, the AP District Honor Roll is based on examination of three years of AP data (2011, 2012, and 2013) from all students who took AP Examinations in May of those years. In addition to increasing overall AP involvement, performance levels must be maintained or improved when comparing the percentage of exams scoring 3+ in 2013 to 2011. While the District Honor Roll is not necessarily a roster of higher performing districts, it is a roster of districts that are simultaneously expanding opportunity and proving performance. We would proudly like to recognize the combined efforts of our students, staff, and parents who made this honor possible. Full list can be found here.
