My name is Tina Heizman, and I am the Library Technology Specialist at Clarendon. My elementary career started in the Merton Community School District. While teaching, I earned my Master's Degree from Cardinal Stritch in Instructional Technology along with my certification as a Instructional Technology Coordinator. After 26 years at Merton, I have now taken a position as the Library Technology Specialist at Clarendon Avenue Elementary School. I am excited to start my new journey.
As the LTS at Clarendon, my role includes teaching the Information, Library, Literacy and the Internet Safety curriculum to all students. Managing the media center, ordering materials to support teachers and students in their learning, collaborating with teachers on technology projects in the computer lab, and supporting staff and students in effective use of new technologies.
I am in need of many volunteers this year to help in the media center. Any amount of time that you can volunteer is greatly needed and appreciated. I can train you to assist the students in checking out their books, and how to re-shelve books. If you are interested in volunteering in our school library, please contact me at (262) 363-6286 ext. 22504 or via email.
