BBES Scholastic Book Fair

Scholastic’s Paws for Books Book Fair will visit the Big Bend Elementary School Library and be open for business four days: Monday, Feb. 26, Wednesday, Feb. 28, Thursday, March 1 and Friday, March 2. (There’s no school Tuesday, Feb. 27.) Students are invited to sniff out great tales from a wide assortment of titles when they visit during library and recess times that week. Parents who join their children for lunch during Parent Lunch Week are also encouraged to browse the offerings. We’d love if you could lend a hand to help staff the Book Fair. It has an even larger selection of books for all ages, and all orders are delivered free to our school after the Book Fair is over. Go to: beginning Feb. 16. BBES Vocal Concert

The First, Second and Third Grade Music Program will be presented on Thursday, March 15th, 2018. Students will be performing the ocean-themed musical, Go Fish! There will be a school performance at 2:00 p.m. and an evening performance at 7:00 p.m. Both performances will be held in the Big Bend Elementary Gymnasium. For concert clothing, possibilities could include: 1st and 2nd grade will be the ocean -Blue shirt of any shade/color -Green shirt of any shade/color -We Swim Together- Big Bend shirts 3rd grade students will be different fish/sea animals - Information will be sent out with 3rd grade students about costumes depending on what part they receive in the musical. Stay tuned! On the evening of the concert, students should meet at 6:45 p.m. in their classrooms. BBES Under the Sea School Dance

Calling ALL Sharks, Minnows and Mermaids!!! Save the date for Big Bend’s very own All-School Dance on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The PTO is sponsoring this dance and it is certain to be a swimmingly awesome time! There will be music by DJ Juicy J, concessions and a raffle of donated gift baskets. All proceeds will benefit the Big Bend PTO. Come help us make this dance a successful event and fun for all!
